Friendship UMC has numerous ministries and programs available for all to grow in faith, love and serve each other, and follow One. If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please give us a call or send us an email.
Adult Sanctuary Choir – The Adult Sanctuary choir is open to all adults. Come sing with us Tuesday nights in the Music room, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
Bible Studies – Friendship UMC offers a variety of Bible study programs. All are welcome to attend.
Children’s Choir – The Children’s Choir is open to all children ages 4-11. (there is no children’s choir at this time)
Children’s Ministry – Children are a very important part of the ministries of Friendship UMC. We offer a wide range of Bible-based, Christ-centered Sunday School classes for children from nursery age through grade 12.
Community Outreach – The mission work at Friendship UMC is spearheaded by the Mission Team. This group organizes fund-raising projects, coordinates existing mission projects and evaluates potential new mission projects for the church.
Handbell Choir – The Adult Handbell Choir is open to all individuals. Rehearsals are on Monday nights. (there is no handbell choir at this time)
Health Ministry – Our Volunteer Faith Community Nurse, is available to answer health questions, provide individualized health information on specific topics, or provide information on local resources. Please contact via email: nurse@friendshipmethodist.org or by calling the church office.
Hands on Mission Experience (HOME) Team – This group of volunteers has been active for many years serving by helping to repair home, replace roofs and build wheel chair ramps for families in need.
Safe Sanctuary – God calls us to make our churches safe places, protecting children and other vulnerable persons from abuse. That is what Safe Sanctuary is all about.
Scholarship Program – Each year, the Board of Trustee awards scholarships to worthy recipients attending college or graduate school. The Scholarship is available to FUMC Church members and more information is available through the church office.
Senior’s Ministry – This ministry includes a variety of programs for older members of the church and the surrounding community. Please contact the church (bsuedean@friendshipmethodist.org/410-257-7133) for a resources library for supporting seniors in your community prepared by “Stand Up For Caregivers”.
Stephen Ministry – Stephen Ministry is a program that equips lay persons to provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances, both in our congregation and community.
Sunday School – Sunday School for children is held each Sunday beginning in September through the beginning of June from 9:45am to 10:45am during the academic year.
United Men’s Ministry (Formerly United Methodist Men) – The UMM group supports mission projects in the community, the nation, and the world, in addition to organizing activities for the congregation and community.
United Women in Faith (UWFaith) – Friendship’s women’s group meets the second Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall and welcomes new participants to help with various ministries and projects such as the Prayer Shawl Ministry and the Gift Basket Ministry — which send hand-crafted prayer shawls, food and gift baskets, and/or cards to those in need.
